Drivers Ed. with Right Away Driving School-Partnered with CLCEDriver's EducationChisago Lakes Community Education and Right Away Driving School are partnering to provide Driver’s Education to the Chisago Lakes area.Classes will be held on the Chisago Lakes High School (CLHS) campus . Important Course Information: After registering, you will receive a Driver’s Ed confirmation email. Within that email, there will be a Google link to an Information Document from Right Away Driving School. This document must be completed in full before your child can attend class. If it is not completed, your child will not be able to participate. 30 Hours of Classroom Instruction: Students under 18 are required to complete 30 hours of in-class instruction before they may take the permit test. Once the 30 hours of classroom instruction are completed, Right Away Driving School will upload the student’s Blue Card directly to the DMV website, as Blue Cards are no longer issued in physical form. The Blue Card uploaded to the DMV serves as proof of course completion in order to take the permit test. After passing the permit test, students may drive with a licensed driver age 21 or older. Scheduling the Permit Test Option 1: At Right Away Driving School Note: At our other locations (Chisago), we only offer the permit test on the last day of an in-person class. This option is only available if we have an instructor available. You will receive a confirmation email once the upload is complete. Please do not go to the DMV until you receive this confirmation email. What Is the Typical Class Like? What Is Needed? What to bring: Highlighter, notebook, writing utensil, and computer or phone (Driver manuals & Folder are provided) Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3 hours per day Fridays are done virtually at home Class size: Maximum of 55 students Class structure: Daily review, Chapter reading, Worksheets, Group activities & Chapter testing What If My Child Needs to Miss a Day? If your child misses a day, they may make it up the same day at home or over the weekend, as long as they fill out the Make-Up Day form that morning. We will upload their work to the Flexi dashboard. Students are only allowed to complete up to 3 hours of Driver’s Education in one day. The instructor will review Make-Up Day procedures with students during the first day of class. *The cost of the course includes behind-the-wheel instruction with Right Away Driving School .
