About Early Childhood Screening

Early Childhood Screenings are required for all children before entering kindergarten in Minnesota. Recommended screening age is 3.5 years old. The Chisago Lakes School District provides FREE Early Childhood Screenings throughout the year.

During early childhood screenings, staff will check your child's: vision, hearing, height, weight, immunization status, language, motor and communication skills, social/emotional skills and overall development. Parents will have the opportunity to discuss the results of the screening with a staff member.

If you do not receive an automatic confirmation email with your appointment date and time you have not completed the registration process for an Early Childhood Screening appointment.

*If all currently available screening dates are full, please feel free to add yourself to our waitlist. Should an earlier appointment time become available we will call you to notify you and see if you are interested. Additionally, you can add yourself to the waitlist if you already have an appointment scheduled but would be interested in an earlier appointment should one become available.

NOTE: Adding yourself to the waitlist does not mean that you have an early childhood screening appointment.
